May we raise them.

Hola. 🙂 I hope my Monday morning post finds you well. Here in North Carolina, the weather this weekend was perrrrfect. I worked a little and played a little. Sunday was pretty exceptional and definitely one for the books…

For my “Sunday Funday,” I reunited with one of my very best friends, Hilary aka Hilaria, Hilaboo, Hilawee and the list goes on. Like so many high school best friends, you go on your own paths after graduation. Hilary and I stayed close after high school but for some crazy reason, we stopped getting together the past couple of years. Let me back track by saying we met in Spanish class of all places. She was a freshmen and I was a sophomore. She asked to borrow my hole puncher when I was finished with it and we were attached by the hip from that day forward. (haha….I’m giggling right now because I know you are too Hilary.)

It’s funny how some things never change. Hilary and I picked up right where we left off. I went to her home in the town I used to call home (Bessemer City) and we had all sorts of fun.

Here we are in Hilary’s living room (I think) in maybe 2002ish? Gosh, I guess she was about 15 and I was about 16. Something like that..

Moving on…….

July 4, 2013, Hilary and her husband Brian had their baby girl: Eva Ann Koon.

July 28, 2014, Jaisen and I had our baby girl: Evelet Amada Mohamed.

Yesterday, February 21, 2016, our girls played together for the first time. No hole puncher got their baby talk going. Just a lot of love and a little fate.

Here’s a recap of our time together…

Our girls were so stinkin’ cute. Hilary and I had our hands overflowing with these crazy July babies.

Their faces…. I can’t even…

Side note: My thighs are sore from capturing these precious faces.

I’m so glad we got together. I have a feeling this is a new beginning for Hilary and myself…and our daughters as well. I’ll end this post with one of my favorite quotes of all time:

“Here’s to strong women. May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them.”

Love and Light,

Me
