Hey Friends! Hope you’re doing well! 😁
It’s been a while since I’ve posted (since October!!), so this is a long overdue post. I am enjoying Texas so far, but am not quite ready for the heat wave to kick in. Everyone claims it’s insanely miserable and I’m about to find out for myself! 🔥
You may be wondering what I’ve been up to all this time. Aside from a couple small trips, eating the best Mexican food and Texas BBQ (beef ribs guys, beef ribs), and hitting up all the random festivals that San Antonio has on the regular, I have yet to return back to engineering.
When I first got back from Chile, I updated and sent out my resume, but since it was right before the holidays everything was a bit slow so I figured I’d just wait until after the New Year.
And to be honest, I was OK with that. I ain’t gonna lie, the thought of returning to a desk job after having that much time off to travel was a bit depressing.
So in the meantime, I started looking for things that I could do online as well.
And long story short, I decided to launch my own digital marketing business. I won’t go into all the details here, but it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster ride. Starting your own business really takes digging deep. I’ve been learning a lot more about myself, what I’m capable of, and just trusting my gut more!
I do have fellow digital marketers that I can model after and ask for advice, but when it comes down to it, it’s my business! I have to do the work. Yes, it’s cool to be your own boss, but it definitely requires discipline and consistency. Both of which I’ve always been somewhat good at, but this is a whole new level (my hats are off to all of you who’ve already started your own successful businesses, including my sister, Stephanie!).
So I’ve been working, reading, and learning a lot as of lately. And I’m super happy with how things are going!! I’ve actually met so many people doing the same thing and will be attending an event this summer to meet a bunch of them face to face! Which is a bit crazy to think about, but with the way everything is done online nowadays, why the heck not!? 😁
Anyways, I’m not going to post about my business on the ‘ole blog regularly or anything like that, but just wanted to fill you in with what’s going on in my life at the moment.
Also, I promise I’ll be upping my blogging game again with some of my Texas shenanigans and future trips!
Some stuff that the Hoch and I have coming up…
- A legit hiking/camping trip at Big Bend National Park at the end of the month!
- A Hoch Bday cruise that stops in Cuba!!
- A wedding in New Jersey/New York (that the Hoch will be officiating 😂)
- And of course I’ll be taking advantage of being able to work from anywhere and visiting family more often. 😉
So be on the lookout for all that!
And in the meantime, I’ll leave you with a quote I read the other day.
“Our fantasies are our realities in an excuse-free world”
-Jen Sincero
Stop making excuses and do what makes YOU happy!!
Until next time,
Kimberly
