The Perfect Day

Happy Sunday Friends!

Hope you’re all having a great weekend!

Hoch has been traveling for work lately and was back home for the weekend, so we decided to stay local and try a few things we hadn’t done yet here in San Antonio.

And yesterday, we ended up having a pretty, perfect day together. 🙂

We started our morning with an Orange Theory Workout followed by a protein smoothie and some coffee. I ended up doing a little bit of work, but then we got ready for the day.

We went out to eat lunch at a local place called Tortas Ahogadas El Chivito. It is pretty much a little shack that is known for their Mexican pork sandwiches that are drowned  in tomato sauce.

Spanish Lesson: Torta means sandwich and ahogada means drowned.

They served Mexican sodas, aguas frescas (Mexican fruit juices), and of course had a super spicy sauce you can add to the sandwich if you want.

They were delicious and I felt like I was in Mexico eating there on that bench. I love trying new, local places like that!

Check it out if you’re ever in San Antonio!

Hoch and I then continued the fun (and negated our workout) by stopping at a drive thru alcohol place called Beer N’ All. These are super popular around here and are a great idea, but at the same time, I’m not sure how it’s legal! They literally give you drinks to go in a styrofoam cup with a sealed plastic bag around it.

Hoch and I orders Micheladas to go. These are made with your beer of choice, lime juice, assorted sauces (often chili-based), spices, tomato juice, and chili peppers. So they have a kick!

I love me some micheladas!

Afterwards, we headed back to our apartment pool and had a fun afternoon relaxing, making plans, chatting, and just enjoying each other’s company.

We then cooked dinner together which consisted of really good steak cooked with the sous vide (one of Hoch’s fav cooking methods), some steamed broccoli, and corn on the cob! And of course, some ice cream for desert!

That night, we debated going out for a drink, but decided to stay in and watched a bit of Netflix before calling in a night.

It may not be the most exciting day, but it was pretty damn perfect to me.

It involved some of my favorite things:

  • Morning Workout
  • Great Food
  • New Experiences
  • Being Outside
  • Fun Conversation
  • Relaxing
  • And of course The Hoch!

It doesn’t take much to make me happy!

So tell me, what does your perfect day consist of!?! 🙂
